$300,000 IHBN funding approved by Senate Committee on Appropriations for FY 2007

Health Policy

The next step for this bill is passage by full Senate, then conference committee with House. Late July or early August or September vote on final bill to fund IHS for FY 2007. The House did not include the $300,000 in their bill so it will be up to Tribes to lobby to support this funding in conference committee.

IHS to end funding for the IHBN

Health Policy

March 30, 2006 letter from IHS Area Director Don Davis to IHBN rejects NV Tribes' request for funding for IHBN. The Director ignores IHBN's ability to increase funding for services in Nevada with a modest investment by IHS. The Area Office provided none of the operational funding for IHBN's first year of existence yet cites its support for IHBN.
